CHOOSE & BOOK APPOINTMENT SYSTEM

Churchwood use the Choose and Book Hospital Booking System. This is a national system and a vast majority of GP’s in our area use this.

If your GP refers you to a Consultant, he will try and book the appointment with you during the consultation. The system will offer you an appointment at a range of hospitals (not all local) and it is your choice where you want to go. You will not usually have to wait longer than 13 weeks for your hospital appointment. You will be issued with 2 pieces of paper which you take home and has all the relevant information regarding your appointment on it, as well as a Unique Booking Reference Number and a password, which you will need to quote in the event that you need to change the appointment in any way. If you lose these, don’t worry, we can always print you off a copy.

As with any system, from time to time we are unable to access the Choose & Book System, we will still deal with this for you but not necessarily on the same day.

Occasionally. The Choose & Book System can not always offer us all specialities. In this event we will send you referral letter directly to the hospital for them to allocate you an appointment.
